In-Mold Decoration (IMD)
IMD stands for (in mold decoration)offers long lasting decoration with multiple colors and more possibility in textures. Unlike the traditional printing on the surface, in mold decoration sets the labeling or decoration between the film and the resin.
In the IMD process, the printed film is placed on one side of the mold and the molten plastic is then injection onto the back of the film. The film and the plastic thus bond as an integral unit and the label or decoration is embedded inside.
